The Security Catalyst online experience is a clearing-house for ‘bright ideas.’ Passionate about changing the way people protect information affords us the opportunity to present different ideas through many voices to provide insight, expertise and distilled value in a way that allows people to quickly absorb — and act.

Catalyst Contributors work to transform the industry with their thoughts, experiences and actions. They give their time and experience to help advance the profession.

Meet the Contributors for 2010

Dennis Kuntz

Dennis Kuntz, CEH, has been in technology for 15 years in various roles. While starting life a programmer, more recently he has spent his time in managerial and technical roles dealing with architecture and security. These includes such responsibilities as web application penetration testing, making and assisting with strategic security decisions, and providing technological guidance, education, and prototyping/PoC projects for IT and business units. Currently he holds the title of Senior Director of Architecture and Security for Market America, in Greensboro, NC.

Martin Fisher

Martin Fisher is a 20-year veteran in information technology.  He’s has a varied series of roles in support, development, and operations but for the last 6 years has focused on IT security operations at Delta Air Lines as the manager of the Delta CSIRT.  As a former armor officer in the Georgia Army National Guard he’s committed to developing leadership in himself and others through demonstration and exhortation.  He also has a background in fire-rescue operations after being a member of his local volunteer fire department for 5 years.  All of these life experiences give his views on leadership, incident response, and operations a pragmatic optimistic view.

Aaron Titus

Aaron Titus is the Privacy director for the Liberty Coalition (http://www.libertycoalition.net), and runs National ID Watch, where you can search to find out whether your personal information has been exposed. Aaron has appeared on TV, radio, and Internet radio programs across the country, and has written on privacy for the Chronicle of Higher Education and the Privacy Rights Clearinghouse. Aaron is a proud father of four and has a diverse background, specializing in Information Privacy Law at the George Washington University Law School, and earning a BS in Architecture from the University of Utah.

Trish Smith

Trish builds on over fifteen years of experience in areas such as community services, human resources, client support, public relations, and project management. She has worked with non-profits, consultant groups, IT companies, and clinicians to develop and implement systems that help them manage and grow their business more effectively and efficiently. A graduate of SUNY Albany, Trish’s Master’s in Social Welfare provides her the knowledge and experience to incorporate and consider the human element in all of her work.

Sharon Shaw

Sharon M. Shaw, a Certified Fraud Examiner, is a forward thinker who has extensive experience in resolution and project management in both the United States and Europe.  Known for practical yet innovative and simple solutions, Sharon is dedicated to educating people on all levels in the importance of proactively preventing fraud.  A facilitator of recognition and negotiation she enables clients to understand their fraud risks and how to effectively reduce them using many of their existing resources.

Ioana Justus

Ioana Bazavan Justus has been an InfoSec professional since 1998.  She began her career working for Accenture, where she had the opportunity to build security organizations, conduct risk assessments, write and implement policies, and design a privacy and compliance offering for companies and organizations such as Microsoft, Pacific Life, Visa, California county governments, the US Air Force, and Accenture itself, as well as for several start-ups.

Ioana moved to Safeway in 2004, where she built a world-class access services organization and helped to implement an enterprise identity management suite.  Ioana is the co-author of Information Security Cost Management, has spoken at RSA, and has been quoted in numerous media publications.

Jim McFee

Jim McFee brings over 20 of years experience in IT management, including six years focused on IT audit and compliance to the Security Catalyst Online Experience. His broad experience spans nonprofit, private and publicly traded companies where he led teams responsible for a variety of audits and compliance measures. His experience in public accounting combines with an extensive background in security standards, networking, and administration forms the basis for success when successfully managing audit and compliance.
