The Curated Catalyst is simple in approach: highlight articles and concepts likely to be of interest to those working to harness the human side of security, including insights on effective communication, security awareness, leadership and the multitude of fields that inform these areas.
Dual benefit in each issue: each element in the newsletter is selected for personal benefit; but it also includes a few thoughts with context and importance. This makes it possible to quickly cut-and-paste items of interest to others into a email with complete thoughts as to why they will benefit.
Curated Catalyst Newsletter Format
With a format designed for quick consumption (the goal is 5-8 minutes), Michael curates and sends the the following information:
- Most interesting phrase of the week: A quote, phrase or excerpt that sparked my passion, captured brain cycles or otherwise fascinated me
- Five articles worth reading (and why): Five articles, reports or other resources worth reading and sharing; this includes the context to make decisions and share with others
- Creation (with invitation to engage): specific details of Michael’s current focus – always extended with a “no-strings” offer to schedule time to speak and learn, share and otherwise collaborate
- Conversations (with invitation to engage): a report on the conversations and happenings including thoughts, ideas, article concepts and upcoming events (white papers, webinars, office hours)
- Where to find Michael: upcoming presentations and travels, a chance to get together in person or perhaps by email, telephone or some form of online interaction

An invitation to engage without strings
A few years in the making, this is an opportunity to share ideas while learning on a consistent basis. More, this is a direct invitation to engage, with no strings, with Michael and learn from his research, writing and continued work to improve business by helping people effectively communicate value.
Curated Catalyst members are invited to review drafts of models and papers, participate in impromptu discussions and even gain access to future presentations.
Who is the audience?
The newsletter is Michael’s contribution to the broader industry conversation and is open to anyone. The bulk of what is curated and shared is designed to benefit executives and decision makers (with or without a background in information security). However, technical folks and advisors of decision makers and professionals advancing their careers are likely to benefit (and gain good content to share with others).
When and how often?
Curated on a daily basis, the newsletter is finalized and shared on Saturday mornings. Submissions are gladly accepted and discussions are scheduled for times of mutual benefit.
